Dunn State Park is a popular park, providing a wooded, pond-side experience close to an urban environment. There is a family picnic area and beach, which are universally accessible, as well as two small playgrounds and exercise equipment spread along the trail system. The pond has a curving coastline with many interesting views of coves and an island. Ducks, gulls and turtles are often seen near the water and throughout the trails you might catch a glimpse of a chipmunks, squirrels and birds. The pond is stocked twice yearly with trout and has numerous fishing piers, two that are fully wheelchair accessible.
The .75 mile Woodland Trail is designed for wheelchair accessibility and gives the user passage through the forested area adjacent to Dunn Pond. The 1.1 mile Pond Loop Trail begins and ends at the Pond House Visitor Center and provides access to beautiful views across the pond and numerous fishing piers.
