Chicopee State Park, formerly the Cooley Brook Reservoir and Watershed has been developed as a high use active recreation area. The total acreage is 575 acres including a 25-acre pond. Day-use parking may reach capacity and be temporarily closed until sufficient parking is available. The park offers a variety of activities including a guarded swimming area, fishing and bicycle trails. Children under 16 must wear a helmet while bike riding on DCR property.
Fishing Restrictions: Ice Fishing in not allowed as the ice conditions and water levels often fluctuate.
The pavilion picnic area may be reserved in advance for $65. There is a non-refundable $4.50 transaction charge for the reservation service. The pavilion rental includes use of a group sized (3 x 3 cooking area) charcoal-ready grill and picnic tables. Restrooms and potable water are near the pavilion, for your convenience. An accessible portable toilet is also provided.
