Description
October Mountain campground includes 44 campsites and three yurts with a three-tiered layout. Visitors can camp, hike and enjoy the outdoors, while visiting nearby Tanglewood and other cultural and scenic attractions of the Central Berkshires.
Geography:
At 17,000 acres, October Mountain is the largest state forest in Massachusetts. One of the most scenic trails leads through Schermerhorn Gorge, a striking natural feature which has intrigued generations of geologists. Countless varieties of wild plants and animals can be found throughout the varied terrain of this vast forest.
Recreation:
Hiking trails are available for every level of experience, and include the famous Appalachian Trail.

Facilities:
October Mountain offers 44 campsites and three yurts. Yurts are canvas sided, cabin-like structures that can accommodate 4 to 6 people. Yurts offer bunk beds, chairs and tables, and access to water and electricity. (Linens and eating utensils are not provided.) NOTE: Electrical service is not sufficiently reliable for use with medical equipment. Comfort stations are located throughout the campground and offer hot showers and flushing toilets. Comfort stations are not accessible. Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring and food storage locker.
Black bears can be visitors to this campground. Bears are wild and can be dangerous. Keep all food, coolers, cooking supplies and equipment in the food storage lockers provided. Do not keep food or toiletries in your tent or camper. Please do not feed or approach bears. There are NO HOOKUPS at this campground, however a dumping station is available for the convenience of our RV and trailer campers.
Please be advised there is an electric power station across the street from the Campground entrance. Patrons may notice a low frequency humming noise.

- Reservations with departure dates outside the 4-month maximum window cannot be changed or canceled until 18 days after the reservation was made.
- If you choose to cancel or change your reservation, a $10 fee will be charged. The reservation transaction fee is non-refundable. Refunds of $5 or less cannot be processed.
- If you leave early, please checkout at the contact station.
- Cancellations made on the day of arrival must be made by calling the campground and will result in the loss of the first night's camping fee plus a $10 cancellation fee.
- If you are unable to arrive on your scheduled arrival date, you must call the campground and let them know. Failure to contact the park by 8 a.m. the morning following your scheduled arrival date may result in your campsite being reassigned to another camper and forfeiture of fees paid.

From the East or West/Mass Pike (I-90): Take Exit 10 (old Exit 2) for Lee. Follow U.S. Rte. 20 West 1.1 miles through downtown Lee to Center St. Turn right onto Center St. (following the brown lead-in signs) bear left onto Columbia St. which then turns into Bradley St. At the Golden Hill Nursery turn right and then an immediate left onto Bradley St. which after a few minutes becomes Woodland Rd. Stay on Woodland Rd. (past the electric sub-station) to the campground entrance on the right
