This rolling, heavily forested property has over 20 miles of roads and trails and is used primarily for hiking, walking, horseback riding and fishing.

Recreation:

WE ARE NOT YET ACCEPTING 2021 RESERVATIONS FOR THE PAVILION.

Facilities:

The Dean Pond Recreation area located in the western portion of Brimfield State Forest has a pavilion, comfort station, 100 linear feet of beach and picnic facilities.

The pavilion rental fee does not include vehicle parking fees. Each vehicle will be required to purchase and display a valid parking pass. Vehicles are prohibited beyond the parking lot. Permits do not include parking spaces and parking at the location by the general public is allowed. MA resident vehicle fee is $8.00 and non MA resident vehicle fee is $20.00

Dean Pond Recreation Area is located off of Rte. 20 in south-central Mass. From the west: Take Massachusetts Turnpike East (Rte. I-90E) to exit 8 in Palmer. Take Rte 32 South to Rte. 20 East. Follow towards Brimfield. Take a right onto Monson Road. Take your next left onto Dean Pond Road. Recreation area will be on your right in 2 miles. From the East: Take Massachusetts Turnpike West (Rte. I-90W) to exit 9 in Sturbridge. Take Rte. 20 West through Brimfield center. Take a left onto Monson Road. Take your next left onto Dean Pond Road. Recreation area will be on your right in 2 miles.
