Overview

Description

With gorgeous views of both the Berkshire Hills and the Green Mountains, this 45 site campground offers fabulous camping in a forested setting. The campsites are situated near scenic Mausert's Pond, with opportunities for swimming, canoeing, hiking, picnicking and fishing.

Geography:

Wander through 368 acres of forest and admire the vistas of the Berkshire Hills and Green Mountains. The Berkshire hills are part of the Hoosac Mountain Range, one of the oldest in North America. Scenic Mauserts Pond is the center piece of this facility, offering numerous recreation opportunities.

Recreation:

Mauserts Pond has a landscaped day-use area featuring picnicking, and a reservable pavilion area. The pond is surrounded by 9.5 miles of foot trails along which visitors may observe a variety of wildlife, and perhaps a moose. The three mile Pond Loop Trail is popular with birdwatchers, and the easy Shoreline Trail has beautiful water views. Swimming is restricted to our designated swimming area. Non-motorized boating is welcome - bring your kayak or canoe for real treat!

Facilities:

The campground offers 45 campsites, many of which are large enough to accommodate an RV. The campground offers accessible flushing toilets and showers and each site comes equipped with a picnic table, food storage locker and fire ring. Please note sites do not have hookups and there is no dumping station at this facility.

A pavilion located at the day use area near Mausert's Pond, can be reserved through ReserveAmerica. The pavilion includes a large charcoal grill and picnic tables. Accessible restrooms are located nearby. Rental does not include the daily parking fee of $5 per vehicle for MA residents and $20 per vehicle for non-MA residents. Once you have made your pavilion reservation, please call the park to discuss your plans for the day. The office telephone number is (413) 664-8345. Alcohol is not permitted at the park.

Nearby Attractions:

While in the area, be sure to visit other DCR properties: Mt. Greylock State Reservation, Savoy Mountain State Forest, Monroe State Forest, Windsor State Forest and October Mountain State Forest. For other nearby attractions, please visit: State Parks in Western Massachusetts
